Julie McCoy is a professionally-trained life coach embarking on a new phase of her professional life. After 35 years as a trial and appellate attorney, Julie was called to coaching when she witnessed the power that life coaching has to transform lives. Julie’s most fulfilling years as an attorney were those devoted to serving pro bono clients, helping them transform their lives by solving intractable legal problems that kept them from living lives of joy and satisfaction. Through that work, Julie first found the greatest joy of her own life—helping others to “find their wings.” Searching for an opportunity to summon that sense of joy and fulfillment in her retirement from law, Julie enrolled at Coach Training Institute, the world’s oldest life-coach training and certification organization. She completed CTI’s certification program in November, 2017 and immediately after launched Dragonfly Coaching.

A word about the Dragonfly. While considering retirement options, Julie found that she was surrounded by ubiquitous dragonflies. It seemed that the suddenly abundant dragonflies had some meaning, prompting Julie to probe further. An internet search revealed that dragonflies are the universal symbol of transformation and personal growth. Hence, “Dragonfly Coaching,” for the first and foremost goal of life coaching is to assist the client in achieving transformation and to inspire personal growth. As an added coincidence, Julie is a commercial pilot, and dragonflies are renowned flyers. In a word, it was “meant to be.”

Julie is now mostly retired from her law practice and loving her new career as a life coach. She brings not only the very robust training she received from CTI, but her love of people and her strong listening skills to her coaching practice. She feels immensely privileged to share in her clients’ lives and to witness their personal growth and transformation. While law was a calling of the head, coaching is a calling of the heart, and it is where Julie is delighted to focus her time and energy for the duration of her professional life.

Rita Marie Johnson, and her trainers worldwide, help adults and children resolve turmoil using the Connection Practice. Rita Marie created this wellness habit, which she taught at the United Nations University for Peace, a graduate school for international leaders, and implemented in the Costa Rican public school system. Now the Connection Practice is empowering more students faster through champions of youth around the world. They become certified to teach the Connection Practice (CP) and then teach it to the young people they serve. For example, the Connection Practice has been combined with Restorative Justice in Santa Clara County, CA. A certified CP Trainer teaches it to youth offenders so they are prepared to make amends with their victims. The Connection Practice (CP) combines empathy and insight and is taught using magnetic or digital CP Boards and biofeedback. It won the Ashoka Changemakers Innovation Award chosen from 79 projects in 32 countries. Endorsed by President Oscar Arias, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and Eileen Rockefeller, co-founder of CASEL, the leading organization for social-emotional learning in the US, the CP excels in creating connection with self and others. Johnson’s book, Completely Connected, is an Amazon bestseller and won a Nautilus Award in the Psychology Category. Over 100,000 adults and children in the US, Costa Rica, Japan, and other countries have learned the Connection Practice. In addition to presentations in the USA, Canada, Europe, and Central America, Rita Marie has been a keynote speaker at a Rotary International Peace Conference, a Peace Alliance Conference in Washington DC., a Summit of Ministries, and Departments for Peace in Costa Rica and throughout Japan. Rita Marie currently serves as Founding Director of Rasur Foundation International, a non-profit that is turning generational pain into generational peace through the Connection Practice.
Christèle’s practice is mostly about assisting skilled workers to secure temporary visas and entrepreneurs to self-sponsor for legal permanent residence with their American companies. She is currently a student of Harvard Extension pursuing a Graduate Certificate Program in International Relations. This is highly relevant to the current state of affairs between the U.S. and foreign countries and bears a connection with her daily work as an immigration lawyer.

Christèle puts a particular focus on client relations: she handles cases and communications personally from begin to finish with no wait time to schedule a call with her, she produces high-quality work and remains honest with her clients throughout about the likelihood of succeeding with their petitions or applications.

Christèle loves good food & wine, travel, discussing the news, reading, and enjoy it all even more while spending time with family and friends!!

She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the International School of OC, the only accredited French-Immersion School PK-6 in Orange County. Her 3 children attended this school before transferring to Tustin Public Schools.
