Episode #90 – Maximizing 1-on-1 Meetings : Octavia Goredema

Today’s guest is Octavia Goredema, career coach and author of “Prep, Push, Pivot.” Teresa and Octavia discuss how to make the most of one-on-one meetings with your boss.

They discuss how to plan and make sure you’re getting the most out of the one-on-one time to ensure your future.

Here are the steps to maximize your time :

  • 1. Work with your manager to determine how the agenda for your meetings will be created and reflect on your priorities and professional development goals.
  • 2. During your meetings, use your body language to underscore your words and your actions.
  • 3. Be a good listener, embrace feedback, and default to solving problems.
  • 4. Use your time after your one-on-ones to consider areas where you can focus, adapt, or make improvements moving forward.
